In 2017, Chinese businessman Sui Liu, through Xinhua Education Consulting Services, purchased the former Daniel Webster College campus in Nashua, New Hampshire for $11.6 million at a bankruptcy auction.
The 53-acre property, previously owned by ITT Educational Services, which went bankrupt in 2016, has remained largely vacant and undeveloped since the acquisition.
Liu’s plans to reopen it as an educational institution have not materialized due to lack of accreditation and funding issues, prompting local frustration and speculation about the investment’s intent.
As of 2025, parts of the campus are leased to local businesses, but no significant progress has been reported.
